Centre to Centre :
Take the tight
measurement from the
centre of one post to
the centre of the other
post. Round up to the
nearest 5cm.
Eye to Eye :
Take the tight
measurement between
the centre of each wall
plate & then add another
10cm. For example, if
you have a tight measurement of 1.5m
you should order a rope length of 1.6m.
Wall to Centre :
Take the tight
measurement from the
wall to the centre of
post. Round up to the
nearest 5cm.
Wall toWall :
Take the tight
measurement between
the walls & then add
another 5cm. For
example, if you have a
tight measurement of 1.45m you should order
a rope length of 1.5m.

Choose your post & base type then select rope, chain or rod. Once you’ve chosen a post model,
be sure not to exceed the maximum recommended rope length (distance between posts)
indicated on each post’s specification chart.
When designing a queuing system, it is advisable to buy ropes in modular 1m / 3' & 2m / 6' lengths
in order to provide maximum flexibility should you ever need to reconfigure your layout.
Position posts to allow the ropes to hang an optimum of 600mm / 2' at the lowest point from the
floor. Too low may present a trip hazard, too tight will mean only slight downward pressure on the
rope which will compromise stability of the post.
