Answer these 5 questions to find the best
containment product for your application.
1. What liquids do you plan on storing?
• Are you storing hazardous waste?
• Are you storing a non-hazardous liquid?
• Is the liquid flammable or corrosive?
• What is the volume of containers you will store?
2. Are you storing hazardous liquids?
If so, you may be required to meet containment regulations
which require containment units to have sufficient capacity to
comply. In order to meet these requirements, you may need to
choose a unit that has a larger sump capacity, depending on the
volume of the containers you’ll be storing.
3. How many containers will you be storing?
Knowing the number of containers you plan to store will help
narrow down your containment unit choices. Some units are
stand-alone 1-drum, 2-drum or 4-drum units. Others can be
connected together at a later time.
4. How will you load the containers?
The height of a containment unit is important to consider.
A full 210 litre drum can weigh up to 227kg, so you’ll need a
drum lifter for higher units. You can use a ramp and a hand truck
to load drums onto lower units.
5. Are you storing drums externally?
If so, you may require a lockable unit to prevent unauthorised
access. In addition, some units are fully enclosed with accessible
Roll Tops to protect your containers from the elements.
